Initally an outspoken critic of the Reagan administration’s HIV/AIDS policies, Elizabeth Glaser came to respect and even befriend the former President and his wife, Nancy. President Reagan recorded this powerful public service announcement in the late 1980s for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
“I’m not asking you to send money, I’m asking you for something more important. … your understanding,” President Reagan says. “Maybe it’s time we all learned something new.”
