The 17th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2013) will kick off in Cape Town, South Africa, on Dec. 7, 2013. Delegates from around the world will come together to discuss the progress toward achieving an AIDS-free Africa. The conference provides an ideal forum for the exchange of knowledge, skills, and best practices from around the world to achieve the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
This year's conference theme, Now More Than Ever: Targeting Zero, is derived from UNAIDS' vision of striving for zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination, zero AIDS-related deaths. It also highlights the urgent need to maintain our global commitment to ensuring access to treatment for everyone in Africa irrespective of their ability to pay for such treatment.
